PACKAGING GUIDE

Coffee Bag Size Guide

Coffee bag planning begins with the fill weight, coffee format, headspace, intended shelf look and any closure or valve requirements. A sample fill test is often the most reliable way to confirm a final size.

Define the coffee and fill weight

Whole bean and ground coffee can occupy space differently. State the intended fill weight and coffee format early in the discussion.

Choose the bag structure

Stand up, flat bottom and other formats offer different panel layouts and shelf presence. The selected format should support the brand as well as the filling and use case.

Review freshness features

If the product is roasted coffee, discuss the need for a degassing valve, closure and intended protection requirements with the packaging team.
